I STAND AT YOUR RIGHT SIDE by Knightly Raider

I stand at your right side
As lay put you down to sleep,
Your body completely relaxed
My eyes begin to weep.
There tool shiny and sharp
Piercing thru your skin,
Tears roll down my face
Dripping from my chin.
My heartbeat racing fast
Pounding in my chest,
A beep hooked from a monitor
A wire to your breast.
Beep beep beep beep
The sound that filled the room,
My feet paced the floor
Like a worn out dusty broom.
Your mouth hanging open
Tube taped to your lips,
My body going numb
Can't feel my finger tips.
A whisper breaks the silence,
The beeps turning faint,
Oh God protect my woman
Please send a Saint.
His hands moved with skill
His actions most precise,
Sweat covering his face
As he grabbed for his device.
His head raised
His eyes meeting mine,
The beeps getting stronger
What a miraculous sign.
His eye gave a wink
A smile beneath his mask,
A nod from his head
The completion of his task.
I held her hand in mine
Cold to the touch,
Pressed it to my lips
I love you so much.
Her lids began to open
Her lips pulled apart,
A faint soft I love you
From the bottom of my heart.
