For Daddy
People think its strange that I call him Daddy
This giant of a man who makes me feel small
Treasured and tiny wrapped up in his arms
So strong my feelings I give him my all
People frown at me that I call him Daddy
This giant of a man that loves me so much
Caresses my face with fingers so gently
Skin tingling, body shaking at his slightest touch
People are judging that I call him daddy
My mentor, my guide, my teacher, my heart
The one who embraces me despite all my foibles
Loving him dearly, never wanting to part
People may snigger that I call him my Daddy
Arm in arm as we take a stroll
Wondering why it tickles them so much
Shame that there judgments are not in control
So why, they do ask, do you call him your Daddy
This giant of a man who loves you so
Surely you should call him your partner
Your husband, your better half, your spouse or your beau
Oh no, I say, he is truly my daddy
He takes care of me, gives me all that he can
He loves and cherishes and adores every atom
That is surely my daddy and definitely my man
