TIME STANDS STILL FOR NO MAN by Jerzey Fresh

Time stands still for no man
The hourglass proves mortals are fools
Arrogant is he that expects sand to bend to his will,
knowing that breaks all the rules
How silly of me to let myself get caught up with you
So busy was I, with my head stuck in the clouds
I forgot the earth keeps spinning too
Overlooking that ashes will always be ashes - & dust is still dust
Letting myself get tangled in a dreamer's web
So stupid to assume I'd ever be enough
That's the way the cookie crumbles, or so some people say
A lesson learned, etched in the back of my mind
No use crying over spilled milk,
& so dawns a new day
But never fear: reality's here,
& its bite is worse then it's bark
As soon as you get close to the light,
it slaps you back into the dark.
