We all walk through this world
Stumbling as if in a daze
They call it normal for us teenagers
They say "It's just a phase"
But what is normal anyways?
In a world of secrets and lies
How are we supposed to know what's right?
Maybe it was in our eyes
Parents say "No don't do that"
They think they've been here too
But times have changed and we don't listen
When you were our age, would you?
So parents think back now
When it was your parents telling you what to do
And the last thing you wanted to do was listen
The experience of life was new
But now you've crossed a border
You don't know the secrets we hide
You've turned into your parents
And we are you, on the other side
