LAYING ON THE COLD WET GROUND RAIN STEADILY FALLING DOWN by LadyRemington

Laying on the cold wet ground
Rain steadily falling down
The clouds are hiding my view of you
The stars the best reminder I have of you
Puddles of water all over the place
Water droplets are forming on my face
The cloud parts and a single star shows
Your face in my memory grows
I can see your smile
Hear your laugh inside my brain
Feel your hand pressed gently to mine
My whole world revolved around you
My heart and soul revolved around you
Nothing or no one could ever compare to you
The dirt I'm laying in turns to mud
It's slowly pulling me in
The clouds close
The star glistens one last time
It's twinkling I've seen reflected in your eyes
The water is rising yet still I lay
I'll let the flood waters take me away
A note in my pocket addressed with your name
Telling you about how I died today
One last I love you whispered as in the flood I drift away.
